Casual Secure Shelf To Wall

Secure shelf to wall. Hold the level against the wall at the height you want the shelf. After I determined the exact height where I wanted the shelf and shelf brackets I penciled on the wall where the mounting holes in the brackets would be on the wall. Hold the first standard on the wall over the mark designating the middle of the stud.
Or if you want you can have a shelf and then attach some brackets to the outside edge of the shelf and then to the wall about 8 from the back edge of the shelf. Never put a TV or other heavy objects on top of a chest of drawers or any furniture not intended for use with a TV. That way I found 3 studs to secure.
I have trim too and shelf actually sits a good 34 inch from wall - should not matter. A corner brace or L-shaped bracket. Adjust the level until the bubble is centered and mark the keyhole locations on the wall.
To prevent this from happening use metal brackets to secure the top of the piece to the studs in the wall. The L-shaped bracket secures your bookshelf to the wall. One side attaches to the bookshelves and the other side attaches to a stud in your wall.
Furniture must be securely attached to the wall. Furniture safety straps eliminate the need to drill any holes -- instead you secure the strap to the wall glue a piece of Velcro to the shelf unit and press the strap onto the Velcro strip. Consult our wall anchoring guide for help.
It would be advantageous if at least one of them went into a stud then just use a wood screw - even a drywall screw. You may have to put in 2 on each L bracket into the wall. HERE IS a small torpedo level to order too.
